Ripe Pu'er Tea(Shu Cha)
Ripe Pu’er tea (普洱熟茶), a fermented tea, uses Yunnan’s large-leaf tea leaves via wo dui (渥堆) fermentation for mellow flavors. Originating in Yunnan (Menghai, Lincang, Pu’er City), it comes in:
- Loose (散茶), cakes (饼茶), bricks (砖茶), tuocha (沱茶).
Key types:
- Mengt Hai Shú Chá (勐海熟茶): Earthy, aged aroma with caramel notes.
- Gōng Tíng Shú Chá (宫廷熟茶): Tender buds, sweet & smooth with deep amber liquor.
- Gǔ Shù Shú Chá (古树熟茶): Complex wild honey and forest flavors from old trees.
Flavors: Aged wood, date sweetness, silky texture. Crafted via pan-frying → rolling → fermentation (45-60 days), top brands include Dà Yì (大益) and Xià Guān (下关), ideal for daily drinking or aging.
