The dried tea leaves feature tight, slender strips with tender buds, curved like fishhooks—hence the local name “Yugou Tea” (Fishhook Tea) among Liubao locals. Its color is dark, shiny and lustrous, interspersed with some bright green tender buds, boasting
excellent visual appeal.

Pre-spring-she Liubao Tea refers to the first-picked tea leaves of the spring harvest, plucked before the Spring She Festival. The Spring She Festival usually falls around the Spring Equinox, approximately half a month earlier than the Qingming Festival,
making Sheqian Tea the earliest among spring-harvested Liubao Teas. When brewed, its tea liquor presents a fresh apricot-yellow color, clear and bright—closer to the liquor color of green tea—thus showing a distinct difference from the commonly seen
dark red, rich, mellow liquor of regular Liubao Tea.
